THE (FOOD) REVOLUTION IS FEMALE

Since its inception in 2017, the Bronx Night Market has prided itself to be a hub where female entrepreneurs thrive with more than 65% of the overall vendor lists. These strong ladies have been the FOH, BOH, marketing, and customer service representatives of some of the hottest culinary and merch concepts this city has to offer.

The long list of female business owners is something that the owner of the market, Marco Shalma is extremely passionate about and proud of. “I grew up in a female-dominated household, with a mom that worked from 5 am- 4 pm and ran an amazing home and 2 sisters that worked full time through their master’s degree. I have always hustled to catch up with them and have been in awe of their strength, dedication, and ingenuity. Therefore I aim to support these amazing entrepreneurs, I am honored to see them grow.”

Some of our Bronx Night Market empowered friends include:

Next Stop Vegan

Rellenos

Rostacy Jamaican

Bar Theory

Crystal + Irie

Churrasco

Cocotaso

Arepa Baby

Saldaña’s

And so many MORE!

During the pandemic, women-owned businesses have taken a hit during one of the toughest times New York City has ever faced. Put your money where your mouth is and buy from women-owned businesses, especially women of color and LGBTQ+ women. CHECK THIS SHIT OUT every Saturday at Fordham Plaza from 12-7 pm.
